Latest information reaching our news desk from Hoima City indicates that Hoima City Stadium will be officially handed over next month after the successful completion of its construction.
According to Engineer Murat Altun the project manager, the facility will be handed over to the government on November 15. It will then be inaugurated in the early weeks of December during a mega ceremony which will be graced by the Head-of-State.
The stadium is now fully furnished with amenities and spaces like the VIP Lounges, cafeteria,changing rooms,medical rooms, access controls,media tribune,gym and more. Floodlights, a powerful sound system, LED advertising boards,giant screens have also been tested and are in perfect condition for use ever since they were installed.
On the side of the indoor arena,retractable seats have been installed on the lower tier to add on the foldable ones which were fixed on the upper tier a couple of days ago.The retractable seating system can be folded or retracted into a compact, storable unit.They will allow the indoor arena to maximize space for different events.
MS SUMMA is the company from Turkey which was contracted by the government of Uganda to construct the sports facility that will be used to host AFCON 2027.Construction of the $129 multi-purpose sports facility kicked off in September 2024.
