For over two decades, Ugandans have watched Gloria Mulungi Senyonjo — better known as Baby Gloria — grow from a cheerful child star into one of the country’s most admired gospel voices. On 29th August 2025, her journey took yet another beautiful turn as she walked down the aisle to say “I do” to Jonas Mbaleka in a deeply spiritual and joy-filled ceremony at Redeemed Church, Makerere.

Unlike the concerts and gospel events where she has long captured hearts with her voice, this occasion was more intimate but no less impactful. The wedding blended worship, culture, and celebration, reminding many of the faith-filled foundation on which her career and now her marriage have been built.

A Journey from Child Star to Bride

Baby Gloria’s story is one that many Ugandans have followed since her early childhood. Born in 2001, she stepped into the spotlight at the tender age of 2, releasing her first song Mummy at just 3 years old. As the daughter of celebrated gospel singer Betty Nakibuuka, Baby Gloria grew up in an environment filled with faith, music, and ministry. Over the years, she evolved from a child prodigy into a respected gospel minister in her own right, inspiring young people with songs such as Ndiyadde and Essanyu Lyange.

Her growth has been more than musical; Gloria has become a role model for the youth, advocating for purity, discipline, and spiritual devotion while also engaging in humanitarian initiatives. The wedding, therefore, was not just a personal milestone but a moment of joy for the many who see her as a beacon of inspiration.

Leading Up to the Big Day

In the weeks before the wedding, excitement brewed on social media as Baby Gloria shared glimpses of her bridal shower and pre-wedding celebrations. Messages of love and congratulations poured in from fans and fellow artists alike. The anticipation was heightened by her openness about how faith had guided her relationship with Jonas, with both emphasizing that their union was built on prayer and shared ministry goals.

The Wedding Day

On the day itself, Redeemed Church in Makerere was transformed into a haven of praise and thanksgiving. Guests described the atmosphere as one filled with “divine joy,” with powerful worship sessions preceding the exchange of vows. The bride, radiant in a gracefully tailored gown, walked down the aisle to meet Jonas, who stood tall and proud, embodying the calm confidence of a man embracing God’s purpose for his life.

At the altar, the two pledged their love and faithfulness before God, their families, and their spiritual mentors. The congregation was deeply moved when Baby Gloria, overcome with emotion, shed tears of joy as Jonas tenderly reassured her. The moment became one of the most memorable highlights of the day, symbolizing the depth of their bond.

A Celebration of Love and Ministry

After the church service, guests joined the couple for a lively reception filled with laughter, gospel performances, and heartfelt speeches. Fellow musicians and church leaders spoke glowingly of Gloria’s journey and the couple’s commitment to advancing the kingdom of God together. Songs of worship mingled with cultural celebrations, making the event not just a wedding but a statement of faith and community.

The Future Ahead

As Baby Gloria and Jonas embark on their marriage journey, many within Uganda’s gospel circles see their union as more than just a personal relationship — it represents a generational shift, showing how young gospel artists can balance ministry, love, and family. The newlyweds have already expressed their intention to continue serving together, blending their talents and vision to inspire others.

The gospel community and fans at large now celebrate not only a wedding but also the beginning of a partnership destined to impact many lives. Baby Gloria’s evolution from a beloved child star to a wife and minister is a story of faithfulness, perseverance, and grace — and this next chapter promises to be just as inspiring.
