Construction of the $129 million Hoima City Stadium is now standing at 88% overall completion. MS SUMMA Project Manager Murat Altun has exclusively told this news site about this development.
Works at the multi-purpose sports facility which kicked off in September 2024 are soon nearing total completion with the handover of the project expected to happen in December 2025.

The latest video update shared by the contractor about the progress works at the stadium as of Aug 16, clearly shows that great effort has been done at the sports facility which sits on 34 acres of land.
All seats have been installed, roofing of the entire stadium is complete, facade panels designed in white, black, yellow and red have been covered around the structure making it look magnificent. Hybrid grass technology recommended by FIFA and CAF has been applied on the main pitch and the training ground of the stadium with a state-of-the-art irrigation system also in place. The stadium has one presidential suite, 12 VIP lounges (boxes), two dressing rooms for the home team side, two for the away teams and other amenities.

Two large screen displays (Jumbotron) and LED boards have been installed all over the edge on the second tier of the stadium.These will be used to serve purposes like enhancing the fan experience through broadcasting live action, replays, match statistics and generating revenue through advertising.
Roofing of the 2000 seater indoor arena next to the main arena is also going on steadily with seats expected to be fixed soon.An outdoor semi olympic size swimming pool, two basketball and volleyball courts, a parking facility that can accommodate over 1000 vehicles have been constructed.

Main work is now on the running tracks inside the main arena and the training ground. Other key installations like floodlights among others are expected to take shape soon.
Hoima City Stadium is one of three facilities Uganda will use to co-host AFCON 2027 with Tanzania and Kenya.
